London Centre of Contemporary Music graduate Laima Ivule is an experienced vocal pedagogue with more than 15 years of experience in teaching singing. Her professional work spans a wide range of musical genres, from classical singing and jazz to musical theatre repertoire and contemporary vocal techniques. In her teaching, she also incorporates the Strelnikova breathing system, the Bodyflex method, and other effective breathing and voice development techniques, helping students become aware of their vocal potential and develop it in a healthy, sustainable way.
Laima has expanded her professional knowledge through international masterclasses in London, San Francisco, Geneva, and Moscow, earning diplomas and valuable experience working with teachers from different schools and traditions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Music with a specialization as a Musical Director, having studied jazz vocals, composition, arranging, and conducting. In addition, Laima holds a certificate in English phonetics, which enables her to work professionally on pronunciation and stylistics in English-language repertoire.
From 2016 to 2020, Laima worked as a choral class vocal pedagogue at Augusta Dombrovska Mūzikas skola, as well as a music therapist and teacher at the day centre Ozolaine, where she combined pedagogy with the therapeutic impact of music.
Currently, she runs a private vocal teaching practice both in person and online, working with students in Riga and London, helping both beginners and professionals develop confidence, musical expression, and a technically free, resonant voice.
